Sexteto Milonguero (Buenos Aires)

“… After hearing only the very first notes of these original melodic compositions from Sexteto, it already becomes clear why this ensemble may be considered one of the flagships of modern Argentine music. Judicious doses of grooving percussion and jazz piano interweave with tempo breaks and dissonant harmonies. The tenor voice of Javier Di Ciriaco ventures to bold heights and intonates through dark recitative passages. Sometimes pop, sometimes wild, the arrangements erupt and spill over, exhibiting some of the energy which the sextet commonly and naturally develops on stage. Small solos and countless compositional details showcase the virtuosity of the artists…” (Tangodanza)

The charismatic singer Javier Di Ciriaco and his orchestra perform traditional rhythms from Argentina: classic tangos from the 1940s, jazzy Piazzolla, Milonga, Zamba, Chacarera and Chamamé. The sensitive arrangements and their own compositions distinguish themselves through their unmistakably unique musical language... Sexteto Milonguero “Swing”. They convey a freshness and feeling that extend far beyond mere technical skill.

Sexteto Milonguero, founded in 2006 by Javier Di Ciriaco, is one of the most successful live orchestras of the Argentine and international tango scene. With three Latin American and eight European tours spanning more than 25 countries as well as concert tours to Canada, Shanghai and Singapore, the group has also built up an ardently devoted following outside Argentina.

Alberto y su Cortinès (Dresden)

Buenos Aires in the middle of the Golden Era: Beside numerous Tango orchestras, the rise of the 78 rpm shellac through the city's salons began. Its freedom, seemingly proximity as well as love of passion sneak into public's attention.

Alberto y su Cortinés incorporate the style of this era, nostalgic and in a high-class level. Grammophone records, played on original electric grammophones, have a distinct analogue sound.

100 years old technics revived - audible and visible, too. Intoxicating Tangos and swinging cortinas flatter our ears. Alberto y su Cortinès transform the ballroom by the magic of the golden era. The vivid charme of these original records goes purely into our dance legs sweeping us away into a lavish ball night.

Alberto: With his collection of several thousand tracks weighing hundreds of kilograms, Alberto is supposed to be one of the most passionate collectors in Germany. His definite attention to detail merges into an unforgettable show. His exquisite selection of shellac pearls comes directly to the dancers. From well-known tracks to rare pieces, he has everything in his trunk.

La Cortinès: Her longtime experience as DJane mixed with fine senses for her audience are the basis for a special night. La Cortinès loves diversion and surprises with Swing, Rock n Roll, Broadway, Blues and Charleston. She is a charming anchorwoman making the guest's phantasy fly. A looker in every sense.
