Circus Orchestra
This year, the focus of our participants orchestra will be to accompany our circus performance on Friday. Therefore, we are also looking for wind instruments and anything loud and fun! World music - rock/pop - classical - anything is possible!
We want to play at least two pieces (for the opening and closing) all together in a large ensemble. For individual of the program numbers we will form smaller ensembles.
Any Ideas are warmely welcome!
Tango Orchestra
Again we are looking forward to a small selection of the greatest hits from our PHANTASTango! Tango Orchestra (directed by Arne Kühr). Rehearsals will be less intensive this year than usual to ensure sufficient time and energy for the circus orchestra.
Even though our orchestras may include a few professionals, it's primarily an opportunity for us dancers who also play an instrument (or sing) just in their free time to approach tango from a different perspective. Anyone who's done this before knows: That's a lot of fun!
We will provide you with the preparatory materials (arrangements or lead sheets, lyrics, and MP3s) after you've registered.
Please be sensitive to copyright issues. Some of the arrangements are provided for this event only. If you want to use them in another context, please ask the providers for permission (some can also be obtained). So please do not pass them on - it takes a lot of work and effort to produce the arrangements and we want to support the friendly people that make it possible to play this wonderful music!

Arne Kühr is a guitarist, educator and head of the Giessen public music school. In an introductory workshop he will guide you into a good mood for a relaxed and pleasurable interaction within the orchestra. At the end he will prepare you for the concert with some important tricks for dealing with stage fright and the sensible use the miking. As your sound engineer he will care for a gould stage sound and provide you with a recording of the concert as a nice souvenir! |
