The Trio presents Tangos, boleros and songs in different languages. Their core idea is to interprete the lyrics in a way that their expressed feelings can be conveyed to the audience via music. Many years of experience in playing and singing the Spanish-speaking lyrics in Germany, Italy, Poland and other countries have encouraged the trio to apply this principle to other musical styles and languages.

Anahí Setton was born in 1977 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, into a family of artists. After having completed her studies she dedicated herself to Argentine Tango. In 2006 she moved to Berlin, where she quickly became a well-acknowledged figure in the city's Tango scene.

Javier Tucat Moreno, pianist, was born in Bs As where he studied piano as well as chamber music. After his diploma he continued to study composition, piano and arramgements of Tangos, e.g. with the internationally acclaimed pianists Beba Pugliese and Aldo Antognazzi. Searching both musical and cultural exchange, he moved to Berlin in 2000. His style is influenced by the rhythms and musicality of the Argentine folklore as well as the Tango music.

Being also part of ensemble Cantango Berlin, both musicians have also performed, beside others, in Salzburg (Easter Festival), Poland, Iffeldorfer Master Concerts and at the Berlin Philharmy.

Founded in 2001, Quinteto Angel has quickly become one of Germany's most acclaimed Tango orchestras wowing both listeners and Tango dancers throughout Europe. The music of the five dedicated musicians drews its extraordinary intensity from the seeming opposition between solemn melancholy and vehemently vibrant energy. Their distinctive interpretations of both traditional Tangos and compositions of the Tango Nuevo founder Astor Piazzolla are proofing that Tango in Europe is very vivid.

The creative mixture of the different backgrounds of the musicians, such as Jazz, Classical Music and Tango, generates a very individual as well as unmistakable style of their arrangements.

In December 2006 the latest CD of Quinteto Angel was released featuring such renowned guests as the Argentina-born singer and composer Sergio Gobi and the Grammy-awarded bandoneon player Luis Stazo.
