Quadro Nuevo (Munich)

Arabesques, Balkan swing, ballads, daredevil improvisations, the melodies of old Europe and the lightness of the Mediterranean merge into fabulous songs full of joyous colour.
These melodies tell of the vagabond life, of experiences and encounters on this great journey of life, of small coincidences and grand moments, of tenderness and wild temperament driven between the winds of east and west, caught between consuming yearning and joyful fulfillment – between the bitter and the sweet.

In the course of their travels, the quartet has established its own form of melodic poetry beyond all genre pigeon holes, unmistakably shaped by the passionate love of their instruments and the joy of making music. The secret is their devotion: it is a rare experience to hear music performed with so much excitement, verve and an empathy with cultures that are foreign.

The Quartet’s venues are as diverse as the roots of their music and are not limited to concert halls and festivals. Quadro Nuevo’s ardent virtuosi are just as much at home busking on the piazzas of southern Europe, enticing audiences to dance to their music as a night-time tango band, as they are in jazz clubs and locations as famous as New York’s Carnegie Hall.

After an exciting and eventful trip to Buenos in early 2014, Quadro Neuvo have once again turned their intense focus back to the Tango.

Tango Spleen Orquesta (Italy)

In a few years only, Tango Spleen gains and excites a large international public in concerts and dance events! The tango ensemble based in northern Italy, created and directed by the argentinian musician Mariano Speranza, is already appreciated as “…one of the most acclaimed tango orchestras of the last period”, performing regularly in Europe, Asia and Argentina.

Renowned in Europe and Argentina – with three albums and several hundred performances at concerts, festivals and ball nights all over Europe (France, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Luxembourg, UK, the Netherlands, Austria). Famous places opened their doors for the orchestra – such as Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the Historic city hall in Wuppertal (temple of Pina Bausch), the Docks in the south of Marseille and many more. On their first tour through Argentina in 2014, Silbando was welcomed as one of the best contemporary orchestra.

Based on both a classic training and studies with grand masters of the Tango (Juan-José Mosalini, Roger Helou, Olivier Manoury, Victor Villena…) Silbando keep broadening their musical horizon also including other artistic universe like Argentinian folclore, Tango fusion (Jazz, Rock, Electro), contemporary music, Baroque, Irish music, children music and musical theater…

Silbando offers a colourful Tango repertoire connecting tradition and modernity. Their very personal arrangements and interpretations still honour the great Tango masters of the golden era. But not only newly arranged standards (El Adiós, Paciencia, El Barrio del Tango… ) will be played, also inspirations of other musical worlds (La Foule by Edith Piaf in the Spanish original version, the  Hebrides by Felix Mendelsohn or even the Kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart, all revised tango-like… ). Additionally, interpretations of modern musicians such as Astor Piazzolla, Leonardo Teruggi, Roger Helou and Leo Velvede round up the program.
