Jasminka Stenz is a freelance choreographer, dancer, and performance artist from Basel. Her passion and professionalism lie in contemporary dance, improvisation, contact tango, contact improvisation, and tango - both on and off stage. |
"Tango People"
In our performance, we explore the poetry of humanity, between drama and sobriety, narrative and abstraction. It will be a shared and personal experience.
How can tango break free from familiar imagery, only to reinvent itself—refreshing and expressive? How do we connect in tango, what makes our feet itch? Can we conjure a PHANTASTango! performance from our inner visions, incorporating our own experiences, memories, and feelings?
We will cultivate our presence to approach the stage with alertness and composure. Together, we will give form to the unique expressive possibilities that each of you brings, developing a simple, short piece that challenges everyone in their own way, fostering personal growth—and undoubtedly bringing much joy.
Timeline
The daily training (8 to 10 pm) will start on Tuesday with a preliminary meeting.
The performance will then take place on Saturday during our Ball Surprice!
